The Wisconsin State Fair numbers are in and the Journal Sentinel reports that attendance rose 4% from last year to a record 911,231 people. This, despite the violence that occurred on opening night.
That’s good news. But this bar graph the JS ran with the story overstates the magnitude of the increase.
Here is my quick line graph of the data. Notice that when the axis truly runs all the way to zero, this uptick in attendance doesn’t look so dramatic.
